the boy and i survived my first exploration of polenta a few weeks ago, only just barely. i've since learned to read ALL instructions before attempting to cook something new. it was almost as bad as making risengrod - norwegian rice pudding that requires CONSTANT stirring.
i've finally decided upon my new favorite summer recipe of minted watermellon and blueberry salad for a friend's upcoming wedding reception. in lue of gifts, the couple requested we bring a dish to share. GENIUS. i pondored for days/weeks over what to bring that would hold up in the heat (garden wedding), look impressive and feed a crowd. tough decisions.
we've been gardening a bit more and are planning to host some family over for a bbq this weekend. other than that, the heat is making me lazy about blogging but i've been thinking up more home improvement projects.
rhumba kitty has been sleeping on the top of my pillow almost every night the past two weeks. it's totally adorable and keeps me enchanted with her. which is a good thing because we're raising a little of ferral kittens in the very back of our communial yard so she's actually got some competition for our attention.7/02/2009 12:03:00 PM
