because once was not enough, i saw purlie at the pasadena playhouse again tonight. that's the second show in a week. starring loretta devine and a cast of very talented performers, this musical had me stomping my feet, clappin' my hands and saying amen!

i've discovered that letting my cat drink ice-water out of my nalagene bottle is bad, it made nasty scab-sores under his chin (kitty acne) so i've stopped. fortunatly, his chin has cleared up wonderfully (whew, no vet bills!). but he still tries to look cute and score fresh, cold water water from me so now i've got to bring him some whenever i have mine. he loves ice water, the poor thing is melting in this heat (and it's not even over 100 degrees yet).
i'm helping my parents do home-restoration by painting my brother's old room. i spent the whole day unscrewing shelves, prepping the walls, filling in tack and nail holes with spackle and peeling off the last bits of wallpaper. then i slapped up two coats of rich chocolatey-brown. yum - the room looks so pretty with the brown contrasting the white trim! i love old houses with their fantastic wood trim. i just might post a picture when it's all finished.7/17/2005 01:48:00 AMa contract job and some family drama has kept me from doing anything worth blogging about, however i'm reading a ton of books. check out the latest on my booklist.7/10/2005 02:22:00 PM
