halloween is coming! yea for corpse hands!

monster-making projects abound as my brother and i work to turn the parent's home into a haunted house for halloween trick or treaters. pictures will follow. we've made five pairs of corpse hands, painted some skulls, assembled fake blood, made gravestones, creepy lanterns, flying ghosts and are working on a huge puppet ghoul.

it's been forever. i'm not dead, just really busy. i did this whole desert tour of las vegas, scouting out unusual desert places, but completely forgot to take the digital camera anytime i went so there are no pictures to show what i found. so i'll describe some of the highlights.

at mandalay shopping place i saw a 27 foot white, dark and milk chocolate fountain and had the most elaborate pastry ever. chocolate mousse, creme brule and even a piece of edible gold foil decorated the sweetest little cake. i didn't want to eat it but i'm glad i did.

at the bellagio's burger bar we ordered three different desert 'burgers' which were sliced hole-less donoughts (bun) with mock burger ingredients. the most burger like included chocolate mousse for the 'burger', a slice of yellow jellied lemon for the 'cheese', mint leaves, raseberry sauce 'ketchup' and caramel 'mustard'. tasted soo good.

my next trip out there i plan to hit simon's kitchen at the hard rock for their version of a hostess hot chocolate cupcake.
