birthday update: my friends made sure i had the best 30th birthday with a weekend full of celebrations! first on saturday dec. 17th, an afternoon tea was scheduled (a tradition with my group of friends) and surprise, two friends flew down from washington and were waiting at the tea house for me! i was so shocked and felt so incredibly honored that they flew down at this expensive and stressful time of the year. we sipped tea, shopped a bit and met up with my family at lucky strike lanes in hollywood for some upscale bowling, eats & drinks. there i ran into a girl who graduated from my high school the year after i did, weird. after bowling we had a slumber party at my place and enjoyed lots of giggling, talking late, sleeping in on sunday and grabbed coffee before dropping one friend off at the airport (she's a teacher and needed to be back for class the next day). we spent the rest of the day in the los feliz neighborhood shopping, munching on sushi and chicken chili cheese fries and headed back for another night at my place. monday, two friends and i joined my brother and his friend for a day of roller costers at magic mountain. lots of screaming and sore feet ensued. we ended the evening with a show at the viper room in hollywood. the next day, tuesday, i dropped off my last visitor at the airport and she scurried back to washington on less than two hours of sleep.
so it's probably no surprise that i ended up with the flu/cold bug that's going around and was sick for much of the family's mammouth mountian christmas trip. but snuggling in a toasty cabin while snow falls outside is a pretty nice was to spend the holidays, even if i was a little under the weather. there was much good scandinavian food (meatballs, rice pudding), a candlelight christmas eve service, tons of presents and lots of good laughs.
i declare, my december holidays were perfect and tons of fun!12/31/2005 06:15:00 PMthe goodies i assembled for the christmas stocking swap. mind rest bath bombs, oatmeal 'n milk bath tea bags, candy cane lip balm, punk christmas mixed cd, birdie stationary, cupcake eraser, lavendar soap, & cinnamon soap.

a shot of the whole package with store-bought stuff thrown in too.

i enjoyed the coolest pirate production this weekend. it was all sword fights and grubby pirates with lots of arrghs! too bad it was the closing weekend or i woulda dragged some more friends to another performance!
my 30th birthday is coming up. this saturday actually. it's kind of a milestone birthday for me, i think when you turn 30 you are really, officially an adult. my aunt said to me that a photographer once told her he prefers to photograph women about age 35 because women enter into their full bloom and the wisdom of their mind begins to finally show in the face. i've decided that when i turn 35 i'll get some professional pictures done and it's giving me something to look forward to. i'm making great strides to becoming the kind of person i want to be finally and i'm happy to say that i really am excited about entering my 30s.12/13/2005 01:45:00 AMsince i'm all about craftster.org right now, here's some shots of my craft swap packages.
