this was a weekend of celebrations! first, a breakfast tea and wedding dress viewing with my mom and the future mother-in-law and grandmother-in-law (the fiance joined us for just the scones and tea bit) where i got a little more milage out of the beautiful dress by showing it off and discussing alterations.
then, i got my make up done at this place by team of (supervised) professionals-in-training and hurred home to dress for the company party. it was held at the beach country club, where rented arcade versions of guitar hero and dance, dance revolution were on hand for entertainment.
then on to sunday the boy and i visited the exclusive athenaeum on lovely cal tech's campus for their members-only christmas brunch with carolers, 20' tall, real christmas trees decorated by jacob maarse, and a delicious spread of food! there were two ice sculptures, a miniture train set wandering through the salads and cheese plates and raw oysters as big as my palm! i ate fresh beligan waffels with fresh berries, homemade whip cream and hot syrup and pumpkin cheesecake among other things.
and then, monday night for my birthday we enjoyed a dinner of sushi, tempura and teriyaki topped of with, of course, birthday cupakes from dots and a drive-by viewing of christmas lights in the neighborhood. and the weather cooperated by giving me a lovely wet evening! (hums she's only happy when it rains by garbage as i type) it was pretty much the most perfect birthday ever!12/18/2007 10:04:00 AM
