last night's adventures included my first attempt at making greek moussaka in memory of one of my favorite dishes from it's greek to me. it turned out really tasty! and as a bonus, i found another way to cook eggplant. i boiled it until it was super soft and squishy. when i make this recipe again, i need much more eggplant as i only had enough for one layer. and i have a feeling that this dish, with it's creamy, cheesey souffle top layer will quickly become a comfort food. it's also got lots of potential for variations. i found myself experimenting pretty easily, you can throw in almost anything with the browning ground meat (lamb, turkey or beef) like left over veggies.1/05/2010 03:01:00 PM |
